About David Tollmann
David Tollmann was born in 1988 and is a third-generation artist. He began exhibiting his first paintings in his mid-20s and is now represented internationally in galleries and exhibitions.
For several years now, he has been successfully developing his own style. He depicts his complex world of thoughts in large-format and very colourful works. His works are intense and emotionally overwhelming in their effect – partly full of profound metaphor, far away from the everyday life of the viewer. His figurative motifs are often reduced to their outlines and embedded in dynamic lines, ornaments and geometric forms.
Tollmann's visual language reveals references to Pop Art, Expressionism, Cubism or even graffiti but is entirely independent and highly contemporary.
