Aquagravure:
Aquagravure is a printing technique that allows artists to give their graphic work a three-dimensional structure: a mould designed by the artist is placed in a vat of thick pulp, which is then drained and dried over the course of several days and under high pressure. The result is a sheet of pulp that has taken on the shape of the original down to the finest structures. Aquagravures are often further refined sheet by sheet. In this way, they are unique pieces in two respects: Not only the final processing but also the artist's "canvas" itself is an exclusive unique piece.

About Aleg On
Born in 1962, painter and sculptor
Aleg On was born in 1962 in Almaty, Kazakhstan (formerly known as Alma-Ata until 1993). At the age of 16, he studied at the local art academy. In 1986, he continued his studies at the St. Petersburg Academy.
In 2007, as an established painter and sculptor, he discovered aqua-gravure, which allows him to combine both art forms. He often adds gold and silver leaf applications to the aqua-gravures, which made him internationally known.
