Picture "Blue Rhino (2007)", small version, on stretcher frame

The triptych measures 168 x 84 cm, and yet it depicts its subject "only" in minimal life size - the Indian rhinoceros ("Rhinoceros uni cornis"). The only one-horned representative of its species can reach truly enormous proportions. However, Sven Delitz not only depicts it in an appropriately large size but through the illumination and the chosen "false colours" he further emphasises the effect of the armour structures, skin, ribs and musculature on the photograph on which it is based. In addition, the type of reproduction does the same. It is a sublimation print in 8 colours on textile, where a special paper is brought into the calender together with the fabric. The ink penetrates so deeply into the fibres with rollers heated up to 200°C that the finished print is extremely resilient (it can even be washed at 90°C!) and extremely lightfast.

Digital reproduction in eight colours on high-quality DES canvas. Stretched on a stretcher frame. Limited edition of 199 copies, signed and numbered. Total size 84 x 168 cm (h/w), individually each 84 x 56 cm (h/w).
