Detailed description
Necklace "Snail"
Colombia was discovered by Amerigo Vespucci, not by Christopher Columbus - yet this jewellery is considered "pre-Columbian". Our replica originates from the Gold Museum in Bogotá and can be traced back to grave findings.
Characteristics of each culture are repetitive structures that appear in the visual arts and especially in the decoration of important architecture, some of which have bizarre names - the meandering "running dog" would be a Greek example. The Colombian counterpart is the "snail". Here, the snail is the design element for this piece of 24-carat gold-plated jewellery. Length 40-45 cm.
