Detailed description
Necklace "Makani"
A touch of the noblesse of bygone times wafts through this piece of jewellery. The original is part of the world's unique collection of pre-Columbian objects in the Museo del Oro, the gold museum with its headquarters in Bogotá. Founded in 1939 to protect Colombia's archaeological heritage, the museum houses mostly finds made of gold but also stone, wood, shells and other materials.
The combination of silver-plated metal elements and blue ceramic beads gives the "Makani" necklace a radiant look. In the early pre-Columbian culture, using ceramics in jewellery was standard and was only later complemented by semi-precious stones. Length adjustable from 42 to 46 cm, lobster clasp.
