Susanne Wind
The works of Susanne Wind (born in 1965) deal with nature in all its facets and human beings and their relationship to it. The freelance artist believes it is important to respect nature, as it is the source of all human strength.
Her works encourage us to pause and recognise the beauty of nature and life. She captures the natural forces, such as the sun and wind, in different seasonal moods. Instead of colours, she paints her pictures seemingly out of light and atmosphere. The light that virtually illuminates the subject and permeates the pictures with a fascinating glow seems to reflect Susanne Wind's positive attitude towards life.
After studying painting at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg, she painted mainly plein-air. Following several stays in Mallorca, Denmark and Pennsylvania, USA, Susanne Wind has been returning to live in her hometown of Hamburg since 2003. Upon her return, she shifted her painting to her studio: today, she captures motifs with her analogue camera and applies them to the canvas with egg tempera.
Susanne Wind has already exhibited her works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and the USA.
