Stephan Siebers
Stephan Siebers makes the heavy look effortless: The sculptor from Cologne, Germany, constructs sculptures that seem to defy all laws of gravity. His objects are meticulously balanced to the millimetre, and despite working with heavy steel, the sculptures radiate an astonishing lightness. In this way, he not only appears to challenge gravity but also our perception of reality and its laws. Siebers works almost entirely with basic geometric shapes such as cubes, cuboids, or spheres. It is precisely this minimalism that gives his works an almost meditative tranquillity.
Stephan Siebers, born in 1963, has been working as a freelance artist since 1997. He has already had numerous exhibitions throughout Europe, including London, Berlin, and Amsterdam, and he is also regularly represented at art fairs worldwide.
