About the artist
Kani Alavi's (born 1955) special painting technique envelops his flowers in a delicate, yet intensely colourful, fragrant veil. The longing for more harmony, friendship, and love merges with feelings of summer.
Alavi lived in northern Persia until he was 25 years old. In 1980, he moved to Berlin, studied painting at the Berlin University of the Arts and was a master-class student under Prof. Klaus Fußmann. In 1996, he founded the "East Side Gallery" organisation to preserve the Berlin Wall, which has been painted by artists from all over the world. Through his exhibitions in Germany, Russia, South Korea, and numerous other countries, Kani Alavi gained international recognition.
